FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
Below are answers to commonly asked questions. If you can't find the answers you are looking for, then do get in touch.
WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?
I am UK based but send my drawings regularly around the world from all across Europe to Canada and the US. All pricing on my website and any quotes provided include postage costs so there are no surprises. HOW MUCH TO COMMISSION A DRAWING?
Pricing varies a little depending firstly on size, and then by number of subjects in a drawing but as a rough guide, single subjects range from £200-350 ($330-570) and multiple subjects on one drawing £350-450 ($530-710). Pricing includes the drawing fully mounted so it is ready to frame and postage. See a full price list here. |
HOW IS A DRAWING SHIPPED?
Drawings are shipped flat and packed securely to prevent bending, knocks and the packaging is waterproof.
For UK orders, I use Royal Mail's 'Guaranteed by 1PM' service. This is an insured and reliable service, which guarantees your parcel on a selected day, and requires a signature on delivery. For overseas orders, I use Royal Mail's international 'tracked and signed' service, or Parcel Force for larger parcels. Both are insured and require a signature on delivery.

HOW LONG DOES A DRAWING TAKE?
A drawing generally takes about 20-40 hours, which is spread over the course of a week or two. You will be quoted a weekly slot for estimated completion based on current demand.
During busier periods, particularly Christmas, it is advised that you enquire as early as possible to avoid disappointment. If you have a particular deadline (a birthday for example), please let me know in your initial enquiry so I can accommodate where possible.

HOW DO I PAY?
Once you have sent some photos and are happy with a particular quote, I ask for a 20% deposit to secure a quote and completion slot. The outstanding balance is only required once you are happy with the result and before dispatch.
For UK orders I accept Paypal, bank transfer and cheque. I also accept cash for local orders. For overseas orders, I accept Paypal and international bank transfer.

I use Pentel mechanical pencils with Pentel Ain Stein leads (0.2/0.3/0.5/0.7/0.9 mm 4H/3H/HB/2B/4B) as well as a range of other equipment.
